Elbow Arthroscopy

Elbow Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that is used to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the elbow joint. It involves the use of a small camera, called an arthroscope, which is inserted through a small incision in the skin to view the inside of the elbow joint. The surgeon would then proceed to use other small instruments inserted through additional incisions to treat the condition.

Elbow Arthroscopy can be used to diagnose and treat a range of elbow conditions, including Plica syndrome, remove Loose bodies in the elbow joint, elbow osteoarthritis and stiffness etc. During the procedure, the surgeon can remove damaged tissue, bone spurs, or loose cartilage that may be causing pain or limiting range of motion in the elbow. One of the advantages of elbow arthroscopy is that it is minimally invasive, which means that it typically involves less pain, scarring, and a faster recovery time. Most patients are able to return to normal activities fairly soon after the procedure.

However, as with any surgery, there are potential risks and complications associated with elbow arthroscopy, including infection, bleeding and nerve injury. It is important to discuss the potential risks and benefits of elbow arthroscopy with your doctor to determine if it is the right treatment option for you.
